FF49- sounds like you are talking some kind of oval track/demo derby kinda thing. Autocross the way WE do it is in a paved parking lot, timed, and driving thru a course laid out with orange traffic cones. I did not see the event at the Monster truck show, so I have no idea of how that one was run. Search for some other sites on autocross, and see if this is what you are thinking it is. Maybe check with other oval track owners about what type of events run at their locations, or try to hook up w/someone who worked with the Monster truck show, and see what they can do to point you in the direction you want to go. You could go to our events calander, and stop by and check out our type of event. You may even decide to buy something a little smaller and come play, although we have had police crusers and town cars sign up in the past...

Are you talking about the "Good ol' boys" class that they sometimes run at off-road races? Old bombers without windows on the same course as the race trucks (not monster trucks). I have read about these in the magazines, sort of a halftime show for the trucks at places like Crandon WI.

It does look like fun.

I live just 'down the road' from you in Ham Lake.
The councill you got is very good. But if you want to 'play with us', it is different. There is also rallycross, like auto cross, but in the dirt. Very fun, We even had an event at the Anoka county fairgrounds several years ago.
Now as to the 5th Avenue, Chrysler, right?
Weight is an enemy. Chryslers are heavy, light is better, even an Omni is better inspite of the lower HP. Ask Mark Utecht.
He has auto crossed, rallied, road raced, and rally crossed them for years.

The Monster truck show guys kind of "borrowed" that term "autocross". I guess if they figured "MOTOCROSS" is with motorcycles, then "AUTOCROSS" is on the same track but with AUTOS. A slight error there since the name was already in use, but oh well. I know I was a little surprised to hear there was gonna be an "AUTOCROSS" in the Metrodome until I saw what they meant. Yeah, your research should be in the direction of the monster truck event/offroad racing people.
