Hey all, this is Kyle Maloney. I talked to Steve at novice school about the mustang we hope to run when it is finished, but I had a few more questions. It’s a 90 fox-body, and there is pretty much nothing stock left on it. Completely gutted interior, 8 point cage, non-stock crate engine with aluminum heads, non stock intake, relocated 10 gallon fuel cell, non stock transmission (Tremec), no rear seat, no heater, non stock k member that extends the wheel base an inch, plus we’ll have to cut the fenders to fit the wheels. I believe we would be in CP, but what is the difference between that and CM? Sorry if this is obvious, but I can’t find any information on classes beyond street and stock. It does have street tires, so I suppose we could also run that class. Don’t know if it will help, but there are plenty of pictures of it at http://www.users.qwest.net/~homebase/

If it is not legal for C Prepared, it's damned close. I don't think there is anyone here who would protest you in CP. If you ever go to a big SCCA event, you will need a rule book anyway.

About the street tires: You could put CPt on it instead of CP. That would put you in the street tire gangbang, using a CP PAX factor. A really good driver in a stock car is going to beat you up in that class.

C Modified is for Sport 2000 and Formula Ford cars. Totally different head.

If you found that you needed to be in a Modified class, that class would be E Modified. That V6 Stalker being built locally might have you for breakfast. :-)

Alright, thanks for the help. So far, I'm not too worried about getting beat, so any class is fine.

Kyle,

In the highly modified calsses, the rules can get pretty complicated. However, your car should be OK for C Prepared.
