My buddy wants to bring his omni glh to the autox this weekend; has a cracked windshield, and can't get it fixed before the weekend. Will his car pass tech assuming the cracked windshield is the only problem with the car?
Thanks for the help..!
It depends on where the crack is. If it's right in the line of vision no it won't but other than that it nas to be pretty bad to not pass tech. The best I can tell you is bring it and if it doesn't pass tech he'll get his money back. Also make sure the battery is bolted down good (no bungees)and mechanically the car is sound.

How many years did Brian Erickson drive that MGB with a cracked windshield?
Yea but Phil it wasn't in the line of site. If it's raining and the sun starts to shine it can blind you. Not Good!

i have a pretty bad crack in my windshield (it doesnt effect my line of sight but would like to know if id be okay to pass tech since the "bring it and if it doesnt pass tech i will get my money back" wont cut it for my 200 mile trip ;) if i can capture it just right i will post a picture... also about the battery thing, my relocation kit (BOX) came with a strap to mount it to the car with, the 2 sleeves that the strap goes too are mounted really good, however the strap has a little play in it :x so the box will move a little bit but it wont go anywhere.

The battery itself needs to be fastened down. A battery loose inside a box, no matter how well the box is fastened to the car, will not do it. Put a bar over the battery and run two pieces of ready-rod through the bar, through the bottom of the box, and through the floor. Then put the top on the box and use the strap to hold the top on.
About that windshield. Where is the crack located? How big is it?
