I really really want to get some serious seat time in and start to REALLY learn to Solo race. I picked up the book "Secrets of Solo Racing" and have been reading it all the time. I see that some of you guys make trips to WI for other events where can I find info about these events and such? I would love to tag along and learn from those of you that really know whats going on. I see that someone here is sponsered by Soloracer and some other companies that is cool I would like to talk to you about racing, you seem to be hitting the other events alot. Anyone help me out?

You should try to hit an Evolution autocross school. They are expensive, but you get a lot of runs and supreme instruction, so it's pretty much worth it. Problem is that you might have to drive a long way to hit one. Sign up early, because they sometimes fill up.

MAC may stage another Evolution (formerly McKamey) school next year. We are always open to a volunteer to be the coordinator. The coordinator is sort of like an eventmaster, but (s)he does not have to design a course or figure out a schedule, the Evolution people do that. The coordinator just needs to book the hotel rooms for the Evolution people, set up the dinner spot, pick up the Evolution people and their equipment at the airport, make sure the students are pre-registered and paid. MAC can help with the bureaucracy, insurance, and the like. If the coordinator is to be a student on one day, (s)he needs to have a deputy coordinator for that day.

I was the coordinator for our first one in 1996. I have a lot of motorsports activities coming up in 2005 and probably won't be able to be the coordinator next year.
