Where is this place? Keeping in mind that I'm not from MN...
Is it a long arse ways from Rochester? Could I make it there w/o blowing out of work at noon?

DCTC is in Rosemount, which is southeast of Minneapolis. According to Mapquest it's about 66 miles, or 75 minutes, from Rochester.

It is about 50 minutes from IBM. Go North on 52 exit on County 42 and head west.
You will see the school on the south side of the road.

Hmmm, I'm tempted. We're buying a house right now, though, so I'll have to play it by ear. I think I already have to flex some time out that week for the inspection.
But the price seems good :dancin: And it's probably closer than any of the autocrosses I've been to :oneeye:

Cool! Swing by. You get lots of seat time. Each run session is ten minutes fun.
There is some video footage from the first event in the AARRF forum in the events section!
Come on by you won't be dissappointed. :)

We use the same helmets and a similiar tech inspection as an autocross. If you show up ready for an Autocross you'll be set!

Well, I'm planning to be there.
How long is it typically between run sessions? I'm thinking that I'd like to start on my street tires, and thus spend some time learning the course and not wearing out my sticky tires. Experience tells me that sticky tires are always more fun than skinny all seasons (except maybe in a snow storm), so after I get sick of the street tires, I could slap the r compounds on...
Would I have time to do that? Or it is like 10 minutes on, 10 minutes off the whole night? Or does it probably take more like 15 minutes? Or will there be like 3-4 run groups? Or will I be sorry if I don't just put the good tires on right away?

I'm planning on being there with my shiney new roll bar on the Miata.
When I went to an all-day event with my M5, there were 2 run groups. It worked out to around 15 minutes on track, and about 20-25 minutes off.
Plenty of time for a tire change, and maybe even a brake bleed.
With the evening having 10minute sessions, I bet it'll still be 10 on, 20 off because of changeovers and such.
I'd love to get out (just like the old days) and the miata is just calling at me to be taken out. Let's see how it pans out.

Time between run groups is variable depending on the number of cars, etc. ;)

I'll be there :dancin: I was too lazy to pack the sticky tires, though, so I'll just be burning off the skinny all seasons :sarc
