Anyone heading down there?
It seems like a long ways. I'm waffling. What is this Oceola place like?

It's a LOOONG drive! :(
I'm not going to attend any of the Osceola events this year. It takes me longer for me to get there than Milwaukee. And with DMVR's spotty event management, it could be a long drive for 2 runs...:sarc

p.s. If you're up for a drive, I'd do the Tri-State event in Chicago instead. From what I hear, the new lot they'll be running at is excellent, and the competition is outstanding.

That Tri-State event is quite a haul, too :oneeye: I'd like to run down there, though...
Maybe I should skip the autocross and use this weekend to earn some points with the wife so that I can hit both events next weekend, and go to the AARRF thing that Thursday ;) :D

415 miles is a long way. Let us know if you find out any more about the site.
They run MGA Research Center in Burlington WI on Sunday Aug 22. 350 miles and the site is good. Jeremy Engel and I have run there. The skidpad area is Canterbury-sized, so there is no reason to venture out onto the massive road network. This is a proving ground built by AMC.

I seem to remember talking to someone about the event site in Osceola. I don't remember the details, but my impression was that was a workable site, but not of the same caliber as VF/Miller Park. I'm probably the closest one to the site on this board, but I'm leaning towards taking a weekend off too.

I wanted to go to an event this weekend....but there are non! I didn't know about this one. Is there a website for it? I really don't know what DMRV is. Anyone?
It's about the same distance for me as to the Cities. It must be pretty close to some of you guys.?.

Are you looking at Osceola, Iowa? It's a long ways, south of Des Moines. I think it should be DMVR, I am a bad typer ... er typist ;) Des Moines Valley Region SCCA. I think it might be http://www.dmvrscca.org or something.
Or were you talking about the event in Illinois?
Can't we do a suprise MAC autocross this weekend? I mean, how much planning to we really need :flame:

Osceola WI is the site of the warehouse for Motorbooks International (I think they moved the office to downtown Saint Paul). I think Wheels & Wings, in conjunction with the city street fair and craft show, will be held this year on September 11. Draws about 1000 cars. (This is one tenth the size of next weekend's Back to the 50s, but interesting cars of all years will be at Osceola.) Interesting airplanes will be at the airport, too. Hint, arrive from the south of town on Highway 35 on the Wisconsin side. The bridge from Minnesota to Osceola brings you directy into downtown, and traffic can go to gridlock. Turn right at stop before the railroad bridge.
About autocrossing in Osceola WI. Someone was looking into a lot at the snowmobile factory, but I don't know if that is getting anywhere. The Motorbooks International site is great for a car show on a nice day, but has nothing for autocross.

More bad news for events this weekend. The June 13th Tri-State Solo2 event near Chicago has been cancelled, due to issues with the site. :(
