yes they allow same day registration, and if you go for both days I believe you only need to tech/register once.

Great! I will probably be there if I feel good enough

I'll be there on Sun. and it did look like pre-reg. was not a necessity, like Brainerd was.

I notice on the schedule they call it a "LOW SPEED AutoX". Does that mean they wont be running the high speed outer circuit? The inner course at St. Cloud can still be fun, but I believe its too narrow to be able to take different lines.
If they are running the outer course, will there be transponders and which way will they be running? Clockwise or counter-clockwise?
I need more counter-clockwise ( left hand turns )events to put equal wear and tear on my car....:D

This is a NCCC event put on by COM & Sub Corvettes and low speed refers to lower speeds than Brainerd :-)
Every NCCC event I've been to uses the perimeter roads, however they have a timing system similar to MAC, not transponders.
As far as left/right turns, you'll see both, they use the inner & outer roads together.
You'll see a 1 minute plus course - could be up to 1:20+ (more if you drive slow).
Remember this is put on by Corvette people, the technical parts are faster and so are the road sections.

I'm planning on going Sunday. Had a blast at their St. Cloud event in May.

You can just go for one day? How much does it cost for just Sunday

I think it's $45 each day.

Matt and I will be there Sunday! yippee!
:dancin:
I attended yesterday's event, and despite Mother Nature trying to ruin the day, I had a good time.
I was quite impressed by the organization and timely manner in which things got done -- this being my first time running with the Corvette club.
I was very appreciative of the help I received at the beginning of the day since this was my first auto-x event, though I've run quite a few high-speed lapping events with other organizations.
While I'll likely attend future auto-x events, I must admit that I've been spoiled by the amount of seat time I've gotten participating in lapping/road race events. Don't get me wrong, nearly any form of motorsports is just about the most fun you can have with your clothes on, but auto-x just didn't satisfy my craving for seat time and higher speeds.
Thanks again for the kind words about my skill as a newcomer and the appreciative comments I received about my car . . . even if it is just a lowly Honda Civic. ;)
See you on the track again sometime . . .

Hey Bull - I wasn't there so I don't know what was going on, but I think as you autocross more, you'll get it. I like track days, but I love autocross. It's all about quantity vs. quality. On a track, with a 115 HP car like mine, you spend a lot of time just sitting there, going straight, with the throttle buried. At an autocross, you're basically turning every second you're on the course. . . And you can (normally) drive a lot harder, since you (normally) don't have much/any risk of hitting anything. I'm probably crazy though :p
It was a great time on Sunday. Not a very technical course, but the rain made up for that.
Salah's 4 wheel "power drift" around the carousel was sweet.
Nice driving to you too Bull... you sure that thing is stock:p you were haulin' arse.

As far as AX vs. road racing, I read a quote from a driver that started out autocrossing and went on to road race. He said autocross was MORE fun and exciting because, in road racing, SO much time, especially in the "slower" classes, was spent with your foot on the floor...waiting for the next turn. I never thought of it that way before....it could be true!

More interesting is the number of folks who learned road-racing, got darned good at it, then went to autocrosses for the first time and couldn't figure it out.
I remember a guy who had the class lap record at Blackhawk, but was never an autocrosser. He came to our event and said he just didn't get it. It all happened too fast. And Blackhawk is small as road-racing tracks go. Certainly no RA or BIR.
Ivan, I'm not sure I met you on Sunday . . . what car do you drive? (I tend to remember cars better than names and faces ;) )
And I'm sure my car wasn't classified correctly in HS, but I was there for seat time and fun more than anything else. I've got tons to learn and seat time is the best way to do it!
Just out of curiousity, what class would my car fall into? Mods are as follows: B16A2 engine swap, koni sport struts w/skunk2 coilovers, adjustable front and rear camber kits, suspension techniques front and rear swaybars, custom rear subframe re-inforcement, front and rear upper and lower tie bars, 15" wheels w/205/50/15 falken azenis, kirk 4-point competition rollbar, sparco evo2 seats, RCI 5-point harnesses, 13.4" steering wheel w/pop-off hub . . . and I think thats about it for "performance oriented" mods. :)

Street Modified, if the subframe reinforcement & tie bars consist of a single (non-triangulated/boxed) bar or bars. If the reinforcements don't meet Street Mod rules, then you'd be in D Modified.

I'm sure the competition is very stiff in SM . . . guess I'll just have to keep at it! :)
