Have you guys ever replaced the clutch? I need to replace that and the throwout bearing on a '91. Any tips? Know of anything else that's worth replacing while i'm at it? Oh, and i'll probably replace the CVs, ever done that?

I had a guy change my clutch for me in the western suburbs- i'll look up the contact info. he was good and fast, probably could do it in his sleep. (try doing a search on this forum, as i asked the same question last summer). i can't remember the cost, and I had ordered the parts from a dealer in Texas.
I don't know sqwuaaat about clutches/trannys but I'm fairly sure the bearing was changed at the same time.
While it's torn apart, consider replacing the engine mount. I belive he had removed one of them (3 of them?) to get the job done, and it was torn up good- a common problem with SE-Rs.
It's always cool to see another SE-R out there, and they are great, eager, willing cars to learn with. they're great for our little courses (light weight, limited slip, decent torque, 7800 redline), and are still fairly competetive, though several cars are quicker (mini s, celica gt(s), damneon acr, anything driven by randy [focus svt]). the only drawback is limited camber which results in rapid tire wear on the outside. i have some old r-tires/wheels you could play with when the time is right.

It wasn't Bill Ray was it? If it is, then his number is probably out here on the forum somewhere as I posted it once or twice.

Hmm, I think I'm gonna want that guy's number. I'll try to find it on here. I was going to do the job it myself, but I don't know when I'm gonna have time. Sounds like I'm better off that way.
Chuck- I'm kinda scared to autocross it, as it is my only way to get to work and it's starting to show the problems of a 175000 mile car that I learned with. Plus, I've let the maintance slip (which is why I'm doing it now). It's tempting though! Looking at your past results, I see why you would encourage me!
