I don't think my wife will be going, so I'd like to find some people to split a hotel with. . . Anyone interested?

And Steve G, do you have the lowdown on a good hotel in that area? The one we stayed at last time sucked and was expensive.

I'll probably be going, unless the family revolts. :p

The cheapest hotel is the Motel 6 in Brookfield. It's kind of a dive, but is reasonably clean and convenient. It's only ~$50/night. It also fills up early. It appears to be full for that weekend.

Anything nice is going to be ~$100 per night or more.

Room availability appears to be a bit of an issue that weekend. The following hotels currently have rooms available, and I have personal experience with both:

Country Inn & Suites Milwaukee West Brookfield
This hotel is very new, close to the event site, free breakfast, free Internet access, and has both Damon's & Outback attached to the hotel. A studio suite, which has 3 beds, counting a fold-out sofa is $129/night.

Hampton Inn Brookfield is very nice & has free breakfast & free Internet access. $111/night with 2 double beds.

Cool :D

Do you guys want to try to do the 3 bed suite thing?

I'm easy going. If we need to drive a bit to get a great deal on the room, I'm okay with that too.

Hijacking thread:

Chris...I booked into the Motel 6 on Bluemound. (For the 16th and 17th...thus the hijack) Not the greatest, but clean. I can cancell it if we get someone else who wants to go in on a 3 bed suite. Cost will be around the saem either way, but the suite will be nicer. Please confirm your in again...thanks!!

Chris, I didn't get your message, but after talking to Steve here is where we are:

I booked a suite at Country Inn and Suite in Brookfield. You, Steve, and I can share. At $139 a night, it works out cheaper than the 59 per night rate at Motel 6. OK?

Pinhead,
Heads up! It looks like my plans are changing and I won't be able to do another Milwaukee weekend this month. :(

Sorry.

Steve, are you still in? Do you want to book a room? The poo is hitting the fan in my life right now, and I don't know if I'll get to it or not.

I still plan to go. I sent in my $$$, so I wanna be there!

Nope,

I need to spend a weekend at home. The August schedule is pretty brutal, so I need to make peace in advance! ;)

I think I'm out, too. Maybe I'll just go down for one day, maybe not at all. not sure.

Hope I can get a refund ;)

I think I'm going for Saturday only, since I have to go to LaCrosse to do the event there. Gotta do a little tire testing. Probably driving down Saturday AM EARLY. See you there!
