The course layout has not been disclosed, but there is talk and expectations that the layout will be more challenging like the first event's layout earlier this season with more turns. I personally requested it myself since I plan on running that day thats if my car is running fine after the upgrade. I'll see ya at the track.

I'm planning to be there.
More turns? Awesome, I thought that track already had more turns than any thing that wasn't an autocross :D

I *should be* preregistered. I'm pretty excited, DCTC is a fun course! Anyone else from MAC gonna be there? I know Lee was planning on it as of last Sunday. . .
Yeah I'm pre-registered Roger. I just hope it's more organized this time and they have enough brooms. The suns also starting to set alot earlier. Ed Smith and his Miata is planning on being there also.

I will be there at 4:00 to start setting up....I plan on speaking w/ the facilities coordinator, handing him a coarse layout map and ask very nicely if he would run the sweeper through...

I'll be there!
Salah, you're alive. I am planning on it, as well, but I just heard about this weekend too. Decisions, decisions, too bad the tires will not take that many laps. Need more seat time with the new suspension, too many adjustments to play with! ;)

Ugh, I didn't feel like lugging my R-compounds up from the basement in the rain, so I left them at home. As the sky clears, I'm starting to regret it.
But, weather.com shows "isolated t-storms" from 3pm to 11pm...

I had fun. It would have been really nice to have had more than 2 sessions on the track, but that's what I was expecting, so oh well. I got what I expected I guess. But now I have done my 2 aarrf events, so I guess now I can run in the "medium" or "fast" lanes, which seem to get more runs than the newbs.
DCTC is a really fun track. I had a fun little series of laps with a sweet M3.
So anyhow as I was leaving, I decided that I like my Mini, Salah, Lee, Ed and Christian are very fast, and DCTC is a blast. Also, I realized that I might run out of tire before the end of the year, although I hope not. Running on the 175/65/15's isn't much fun ;)
Ed, Lee and I all said that we'd be there Monday, wife-permitting :dancin:

The fast lane is where it is at. I think I got out about 8 times, including the check ride I gave in the black STI! What a sweet car. I'm surprized you only got 2 runs. The trick is to be first in line and 1st back in line. Come to the full day events and you will get a lot of seat time.

Well that kind of irks me :( (not that you personally got 8 runs or anything, just that there was such a large descrepancy) It's not like I was wasting time, I pulled off the track and got straight back into the line. Seriously, I was only on the track for 2 run sessions. Man.

He may make you wait until you learn to spell it.

I was out only 3 times (although I could have gone 4 if I wanted to stay until the end) and I was quick to get back in line. I think the 8x sounds a bit fishy (no offense). Were you getting back into the same line? I was in the middle line the whole time. I did notice that they were sending out some cars that had just been out (read: M3) so those cars were able to get into two sessions in a row. I think they need to address that and I will make sure I mention it. The start really needs some work, they sent out 3 newbies on my second session and it took me about 100 yards to catch the WRX Wagon and I sat behind him until the flag came out! I don't blame the driver as much as the start marshall for sending out newbies with the license holders. Always room for improvement and that starts with written procedures, much like we have here.

I am going to talk to my Paddock staff about the discrepancies.
The Licensed drivers do get more seat time than a driver that is brand new to AARRF but that is a big discrepancy. It may be a combination things.
I'll fix it.
Still $35 for 14 minutes (Each session is 7-12 minutes) of seat time is pretty good fun. I'll work to get you more though.

I think it was 8 runs, but I got out right away with the first group, and when I came back in line I was sent out again almost right away. Then I gave a check ride to a newbie in his car, ran back to my car which had been first in the left lane. After that run the wait was long again, but once it was dark, there was far fewer people. I stayed in the left lane the whole night and just followed the line. Anyway, this discussion should be on the AARRF board, but I just thought I'd post to let you know it gets better after your first event! Anyway, come say hi at the next one I'm at.
