I recently had my helmet painted and the stickers removed. This is the same brain bucket that i have used this whole season. Is someone going to flip out because the thing doesn't say Snell2000 on it anymore? Bill Owen can vouch for me that its the same helmet I always use.

My sticker is underneath the padding, was yours on the outside or something?

Aren't the SNELL stickers usually on the INSIDE of the helmet? :p Dunno...mine are.

It is my understanding that the Snell label that counts is the one on the inside. Manufacturers are not allowed to print these labels. They must buy them from Snell.
It is possible that the sticker on the outside of the helmet is merely advertising provided by the manufacturer.
It is also my understanding that Snell Foundation tests helmets for the effects of repainting them or putting on non-original stickers, so it is OK to repaint your helmet. Back in the days when the Z90.1 standard was acceptable for autocrossing, an entrant was prohibited from painting or stickering such a helmet because the Z90.1 standard did not test for the effects of repaints or stickers.
I suggest Strider check the inside of his helmet for a Snell label. If there is no label in there, his helmet was probably not OK in the first place. I have an M2000 hat, and the label is darned difficult to find, but it is in there.
