Are any of you guys from the Cities coming down?

I think it's the last Waterloo event this year, at least as far as I can tell from the schedules posted by DMVR and Iowa Region :(

Jim and I have been switching the meeting places up, but if some of y'all City Folk are comin' down, we'll go back to the regular gas station or Fleet Farm spot.

Roger
Keith Beumer and myself are going. I here it's a nice slab of concrete. Very grippy :)
We are planning to meet at BK on CR50 by Fleet Farm at 5:30ish or earlier.

I'll be going. It's my last chance to do some testing on concrete, prior to Nationals. :)

Lee & Keith - it sounds like you guys must be headed down I35. I'll be coming down Hwy 52 through Rochester, as it's 30 minutes faster for me that way.

Roger & Jim, you guys want to meet at the gas station approx. 7:15am? I'll need to gas up, anyway.

Ya, lets plan on that.

Lee- Waterloo is a really nice lot! And they normally have flying courses. Are you bring the Opel?

Yes, I will be there. This will be my last event in the Midwest! In other words my last time hanging out with MACers and enjoying a small club event. I am looking forward to it. I always enjoy Waterloo!

Steve and Roger, see you at Conoco at 7:15.

A new guy that Jim and I met in LaCrosse will be coming along. He should be meeting us at the Conoco. His name is Mustafa and he has a sweet M3.

I talked to another guy who also may be meeting us. I can't wait to see his vehicle - a 500hp+ Superformance Daytona Coupe. That should be fun!

Are you talking about a Cobra Daytona Coupe? If you are I saw this guy at a vintage lapping event up at St.Cloud, very nice car right down to the knock off Halibrands.
It had a "Roush 427" small block! Or are you talking about a Dodge Daytona? with 500hp it will Tear the guys arms off with torque steer!

Lee,

It's the guy with the Roush 427 (http://www.roushparts.com/pdf/427R.pdf). Superformance simply calls the car the Superformance Coupe (http://www.superformance.com/coupe.aspx), but it is a replica of the Cobra Daytona Coupe.

I talked to him on the phone quite a bit - haven't actually met him yet. If he shows at Waterloo, I'll help him get acclimated, do a ride-along and introduce him to other drivers.

-Steve

p.s. If the chance for a fun run availed itself, I certainly wouldn't refuse! ;)

now THAT is a cool lookin car.
Is that a picture of the accual car that is going to be there, or is that one that looks just like it.

Adam it's not his car but you will be amazed at how nice his is. It's not really set up for handling as it's tires are very narrow. I was amazed that he was out with the other cars running laps but he only did one 20min session and then watched. He's a very nice guy to talk to along with his wife who had a lense on her camera that just about cost as much as the car.

If his car resembles the car in the picture in any way. Once again I am druling:drool:
As for the camera lense Thats just crazy. She must be some kind of pro.

A great event before Nationals. Very good course design and lots of grip. The Miatas were picking up the front wheels (inside ones only)!! Lots of MAC guys including Frisvold and Beumer who normally don't make it. Beumer had lots of MOD competition including an FM competitor.

It was a really fun event! Driving Jim's STI was a BLAST! It was kinda funny, I told Lee that driving that car was like watching a movie on fast-forward, then I took Mustafa for a ride in it, and he said the exact same thing. It's sorta surreal to see the cones coming up at you that fast. I can't imagine what one of those wild DM cars is like :barf:

Great event and course as Adam said.

Results yet?

I can’t wait to see the PAX results to see how Adam did against the deep talent pool that exists in Iowa.

I'd have to agree. I think this was by far the best/smoothest event we've put on that I've attended so far.

Since that was most likely our last event @ Waterloo this year and I don't imagine many of you will make it down for our other events, I'd like to say thanks to you all for coming down and participating with us this year. I hope to see you all next year.

--Josh

PS. the results have been posted to the http://www.iowaregionscca.org/ website.

I calculated PAX times for all drivers at this event. Adam Ansorge was fast PAX of the day. Congrats to Adam for a great drive!:D

-Steve

p.s. As you can see, Alex & I didn't do so hot in my car, due to running half the event on corded tires and the other half on brand new ones. That's OK, the new tires are now scuffed, heat cycled and ready to go for Nationals!

They may not have caught it, but my 60.2 was a bust. I hit a cone and did an OC. 60.6 was my best clean time landing me in 2nd in PAX.
