Anyone used or heard anything about the following?
Pirelli Pzero Corsa
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup
Dunlop SP Super Sport Race
Toyo Proxes RA-1
Thanks

Of those, I believe the RA-1 would be the best auto-x tire. I believe I have heard that the others (except the pirelli, I don't know about that one) take longer to heat up. Salah has had two of the four, so maybe he can chime in here.

I have owned the Dunlop SP Super Sport Race on my previous Evo and the Toyo Proxes RA-1 on my Integra Type-R
Judging from your list of choices, it seems you want a tire that can do it all; autocross, roadrace and street driving.
On a warm, dry day, both tires should perform about equally well with lap times that are somewhere in between the Top Street tires (KD, Azenis, A-046, RE-070, etc) and the Top Race tires (Hoosier, V710). On a first gear course like midway, these tires wont be much better than a top street tire, but you will definately notice a difference on a faster track.
On a cool or rainy day, the Dunlop will beat the RA-1 by a fair margin. In fact I have never driven on ANY other tire with this much wet grip! This isn't surprising given the Dunlop's roots as an intermediate rain tire for the BTCC (British Touring Car Championship).
Both tires are very predictable and easy to drive hard. Both tires have a relatively soft sidewall, especially the Dunlop, so don't expect lightning quick slalom speeds. The Dunlops in particular, felt a little mushy in transitions compared to my Evo's stock Yokohama A-046 tires. However, their cornering grip, especially in the wet, makes up for this shortcoming.
Overall I would pick the Dunlop especially at it's super low price. BTW, the Dunlop is on the pace right away, no need for much warm-up.

Salah, I take it you've bever driven a set of Hoosier Dirt Stockers in the rain. Amazing grip (of course, they'd last about two laps on a road course....).

The Dunlops seem like a very good all-purpose choice - plus, they're priced very aggressively at the moment.:)
Too bad they only come in a limited range of 17" & 18" sizes. :(

Thanks Salah. Any idea how long the Dunlops would last? We would like to get about 3 track days and a couple autocrosses on them, plus getting there and back.

For your big monster car! :p
I'd love to put a set of the Dunlops on my Miata as a "street" tire, but they don't have any 14's or 15's. :(

The Dunlop's wear also seems to be in between a top street tire and a top race tire. Assuming you are running plenty of negative camber, 3 track days with about 30 hot laps each + some street/autox should not be a problem.
BTW, my reference to the Dumlop's wet grip does not include driving through 2" deep puddles which will make these tires hydroplane at high speeds. I am referring to the tire compound's grip on a wet surface.
