In the spirit of what politics [should be] is all about, serving and sacrifice, rather than waiting for a hand out, and expecting someone else to do for 'us' what we could be doing for ourselves.

There are people who have done many different 'jobs' for the sport, without complaint. And we all should be grateful and thank them for their efforts.

At this time there are positions open, even if currently held by someone, that you could step up the the starting line and be a part of.
Positions open are; rules chair for the met council, numbers 'czar' and even an open spot on the MAC board.
And I would like to divide up the met council's secretary treasurer's job.
Somebody want to be secretary?

The efforts to be part of this are quite minimal. Maybe one meeting a month, a report here and there. After all, it's about the sport we all love. What about some good stories to publish in our newsletter? And by the way making some fine friends along the way.

Just remember, that without the efforts of those who serve, this sport wouln't have even started much less survived all these years.
Just think for a moment, if our forefather's had said, we'll never throw off the yoke of bondage to a imperialist king? Where would the world be today?
Humbly, DCM

This is a pretty fun assignment. I would honestly be jumping at the chance to help out if I wasn't doomed to the farthest outreaches of Auto-dom. Everyone who has ever thought "I wish we could do this or that..." or "Why do they do things like they do?" should be giving some thought to helping out in some way. It really is a great group of people and it does end up being rewarding. Don't all push each other...form a line...

I have heard the call to duty and will be taking over a Met Council post. But NOT Secretary. I can't read my own writing if required to take minutes at a meeting.

No, the post to which I refer is Permanent Car-number Czar. Don't send me number requests yet because I am not set up. I will have it set up by the year-end party.

I won't be at the Met Council meeting tonight because I need to attend a party for an old codger turning 53 today.

Like Phil, I heard the call too. I volunteered for the Met Council Rules chair.
