I'm going also. I heard it is going to be a 3 run only event. Kindof like a nationals warm up or somthing.

I'm going, if it's three runs only will they still allow double drives?

3 runs apply to the special Iowa region vs. DMVR battle. MN, lets go kick some butt!!

I'll be going. Heading down sunday morning. Mike will be co-driving my miata. If it is allowed, i am going to try to convince him to do a double drive with his MR2 as well. I'll have to convince him to run the thing first though. Let's go!

Roger,

I'll be driving through Rochester - probably about 7 AM or a little later. No trailer, so it's going to be an easy drive.

Have fun, and good luck to everyone in IA. I was waffling about which event to attend.... The relative close proximity of St. Cloud won out.
Get some pics and video.

Maybe if I had two more of those Eagal tires ;)

We'll see how I like the feel by Sunday. It may need a tune-up before it makes a long trip. Or maybe the Sprite will have to drive down and we'll trailer the MR2 :D

Either way, I'm going all out competitive. No mercey for those Iowawinians

In your dreams maybe, even if we traded off driving the Sprite after 500 miles we'd all need chiropractors.

Sounds good to me. I think they have registration opening at 8am, though. Leaving Rochester at 7am doesn't put us there REAL early. Things start about 11am, though, so I suppose that should leave us about 2 hours to change tires and walk the course. But if you guys would like to leave a little earlier, I'd be all for it.

From the way I read the event info ( http://www.iowaregionscca.org/calendar/index.php?action=getinfo&uid=1751803212 ), it sounds like 3 runs for everyone. We'll see what happens. Josh, are you reading this? Any insider info for us?

Anyhow, I'd like more than 3 runs, but 3 runs at Waterloo is normally more grin inducing than 6 runs anywhere else, so I'm not going to be too upset if we don't get more.

Roger,
I need a MINI fix :-)
If my other co-drive doesn't work out do you want to drive the Sprite?
You are bringing your R compounds aren't you? I never did get them on the MINI or I might still have it

As for leaving earlier, that would depend on Andy/Mike as I wake up at 5:00 without an alarm every day :o

Paul, I'm trying to save my sticky rubber for Topeka. I don't want to put any more runs on those tires than I need to. I will be bringing them, but I don't want a codriver.

I'm in no big hurry, as "my" car will be arriving in Waterloo Saturday night (thanks, Randy!). However, if you want to meet a bit earlier, that's fine with me.

I am thinking about heading down there. I would rather drive 10/10 in a parking lot versus 8/10 at St. Cloud.

A few questions:

- I take it the track conditions are worth the four hour drive?

- I am coming down from Rogers, is heading through Rochester shorter or should I just head down I-35 to US 18 to IA27 South? Rochester seems to be out of the way.

Three runs on a single-lap course in Waterloo? That's like a minute and a half of seat time. :(

I hope they have free fun runs with workers.

Tim,Its worth it for the concrete and to see the cool cars that show up.

Yep, four hours each way.

Maybe St. Cloud is not that bad...only about 40 minutes from my house.

However, a new venue is more temping than a short drive.

Is the surface concrete? I haven't driven on concrete since the COMMANGSAC days. That would be fun.

[edit] Oops, Randy answered before I asked..

Tim -

Waterloo's concrete is by far the stickiest stuff I've seen in my limited time running, but even so nothing around here comes close that was a first place and only place really, that gives me huge issues with my too soft springs with my too wide tires. Anywhere around here and I may just touch but, not really notice, Waterloo it was a huge problem, oh corner oh **** what was that I've lost all feeling with the car oh ok again it was just he tire hitting.

What Randy said but the HWY 18 exit is after or south of the Clear Lake / Mason City exit. 4 lane all the way. Takes me 3.5 from Victoria MN.

Great competition here at Waterloo.....
