Jean is announcing that we will have the first "new look" school. I will forgive her for thinking that Midway is in Minneapolis...
=============
Starting after nationals, many of the remaining schools scheduled wil be taking on a
new look/format. As with the times and changes to improve, Evo will be making a phase
1 "new course" design that will still have elements associated with the
looking ahead of phase 1, but with a new format, and ways to benefit clubs and
students. For past students, phase 1 will be a welcomed phase 1 refresher.
We will also be having a new Evo store on the website where our new logo, shirts,
hats, mugs, bags, all kinds of stuff will be for sale like a regular store.
Schools that wil have the new phase 1 will be at Minneapolis end of September, Tim
Aro is one instructor to be slated for that school so far, plus either Dean Sapp or
myself. LA, and Tuscon in October wil be trying the new format. Possibly Houston in
Novemeber.
Please pass this on to all lists and discussions, clubs, regions you can think wil be
interested-thanks.

Phil,
You're jumping the gun a bit (as did Jean). I'm still waiting for confiramtion that Midway is large enough for the new format. If it is, we're going to have a bunch more Phase 1 openings, as the new format includes one more instructor and more student spaces. If you're interested in either class, look for an announcement in the next 1-2 days.

:D :D OOOOH! OOOOH! Sign me up.....as he waits with anticipation.
I debated and debated between Evo Phase I and the NASA HPDE event in Iowa. Ended up signing up for HPDE, Evo filled up, then the bastages at NASA cancelled the HPDE Event. Story of my life!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
It's official - the 2005 Evolution Phase 1 & Phase 2 Schools in Saint Paul will be offered in Evolution's new format. As a result, we have a bunch more spaces available. (24 total for Phase 1 and 18 total for Phase 2). The new Course format permits multiple cars on course at the same time - which means more runs and a bit different experience for students. Those who have taken Phase 1 in the past may find the new format different enough to to useful as a refresher.
I have updated the events in MyAutoEvents to reflect the new entry limits. Please sign up ASAP, as we have to send half the course fees to Evolution in the next week.

Bummer. Too bad the announcment for addit'l spots came out late... I'll be at Watkins Glen watching the Indy cars that weekend. After paying and not being able to attend last year's phase 1, I was a little apprehensive to sign up real early on.
Hope it's a great weekend of events!

Status, as of 09/19:
Phase 1 is full. There was some confusion, regarding the limit for this class. It's supposed to be 16, which we have now reached.
Phase 2 has 3 openings. If we don't fill the spots before this weekend, I will allow Phase 1 students to register & pay on Saturday.

Eh, does this mean that the 6:1 ratio of instructors as originally billed will change? Or are you bringing on another instructor to handle the additional student load? If not, will the cost be adjusted to account for the additional students?
I'm signed up for the EVO 1 school and looking forward to it. I have not attended one of these schools before so I don't know anything about the format. One of the things that appealed to me was the student per instructor ratio.

Oskar, the cost remains the same. We will still have two instructors, which technically raises the student/teacher ratio from 6:1 to 8:1. However, due to the new format, you actually end up with more seat/instructor time than with the old format. So it ends up being a win/win - you get more runs and the club stands a better chance of breaking even on the event.

p.s. Assuming we get done at a reasonable time, I'm also planning to offer participants considerable opportunity for post-class fun runs at the end of the day - further enhancing the experience. If you guys want to stay late & get in an EXTRA 10-15 runs, I'm cool with that. 8) This is possible, due to the new format using our equipment - giving us total control over setup/teardown. :)
