Due to some late cancellations, there are now openings for both events this weekend. We're no longer maintaining a waiting list for either event, so register now if you wish to attend. Once these spaces are filled, we'll take names at day of event registration. Space permitting, we will accept multiple entries, 10 minutes prior to the close of registration each day.

I was mainly trying to complement Tim Aro....the guy can drive like no tomorrow!
I plan on giving it everything I got! I know I'm faster....it's just a matter of me remembering that on Saturday and Sunday! :oops:

ME!
Sorry, but the MG lost it's oil filter last night after the monthly meeting.
[Funny, that never happened before]
Very expensive sounds coming from it now!
And thank you for the offers to co-drive.
However, I really wanted to trophy in my class, in my car, for the Metropolitan Council series.
I will be there Saturday morning with the EZ-UPS, and the new canopy, and help all day.
Sunday, I'm not sure.
Sincerely

Sorry I couldn't help more yesterday. Is it just an oil filter? I can probably round up one from one of our sources. Call Metic Auto parts, or Bumper to Bumper. They should have one.
Second option, ask Doug Wilson to co-drive his VW. He's the other person in your class, so you could still get your points :)

P.S. I guess i'll throw up another offer for dwight. you can co-drive the scooby both days if you want. but if your going to, your running in DS. i don't need any more competition in DST.:D

I believe rules state you can't run the same car in two different classes. I don't know if it applies to Tire Index...

I believe rules state you can't run the same car in two different classes. I don't know if it applies to Tire Index...i belive the rule is that no 1 driver can enter 2 classes with the same car. i don't belive that there is a problem with 2 drivers in diffrent classes with the same car.

Yeah, there's a problem. It is not allowed under Met Council rules.
If one of the classes is Special Interest or Exhibition, no problem. It is specifically allowed to run a car in SI or X with one driver and a regular class with a different driver.
====
3.2 A given vehicle may be entered in only one category in any event; i.e., it may not be entered in both STOCK and non-STOCK categories. See Section 9 for exceptions.
====
9.2.5 Different drivers, regardless of Section 3.2 may enter a vehicle in both SI and its regular class. The three permissible drivers may be split between SI and the car's regular class in any combination. Protests of vehicle legality or classification in its regular class shall not affect the SI entrant.
====
9.3.4 A vehicle may be entered in both X and its regular class by different drivers, regardless of rule 3.2. The three permissible drivers may be split between X and the car's regular class in any combination.

oh.. it has come to my attention taht there is a 05 subaru wrx sti competing in ESP on both days... that's me, I would run STU if it were an option (next year, anyone...?) I'm just running street tires, so I could do ESPt I suppose. Only mods are springs and tophats. Last time I got bumped to BSP where the M3s seem to rule.
Would like to do more suspension work for next year, but if there is no one to run against on a regular basis I may just go back to stock to make it a little more fun.
I don't see the Fiat listed as ESP, should it be DSP...?

I just noticed the SCCA is running STU, maybe I will switch for Saturday. What does STU bump to if there are only two of us in in the class?

oops hehe better fix that.. i totally missed that.. my bad i just figured that since it was categorized as an E-stock car... it would go into e-street prepared... but since its supposed to go into DSP.. which im not entirely sure why.. ill play along.. altho i dont think i can keep up with those 914's

That's just the way they work. Because when you open up what you can do to certain cars in SP classes, their performance can improve in different ways in relation to other members of the stock class. That and you have A-F SP but SS, AS - HS for stock classes.

Uuh, when you lose the oil filter, the oil also goes, bye, bye...................
And the lack of the oil cushion between the bearings, and the crankshaft, is NOT good.

The Stock and Street Prepared categories have nothing to do with each other. Each category has its own list of vehicles for classes. Each has its own classing committee in SCCA and there seems to be no evidence that these different committees talk to each other. Probably there is no reason for them to talk to committees for other categories.
If you have a certain car and you want to class it, first you look at the types of modifications on this car and decide for which category it is legal. Then check the car listings for that category.
The complications of classing a car in the SCCA system is one of the biggest reasons Met Council adopted Randy Williams' invention Special Interest class. It gives a person time to learn autocross before having to dive into classing issues.
