Curious as to what interesting cars might be there. I have heard that Downtown Jaguar will be displaying a Lotus Exige (which I'm sure we will NOT be able to sit in, sigh...).

I put on my MR2 daily, I think cramming myself into and Elise/Exige would be more like "surgical insertion"

I heard a roumor that there will be a super-duper-way-cool SCIROCCO on display. :D

Does this one plan on being as cool looking as it is speedy. Not the so fast you can't tell it's ugly.

Hehe.

How'd the paint turn out?

Talk nice to LOON members. Downtown usually trades free show passes to LOONs if they will spend some time working the Lotus display. I've done it in the past, but don't know that I will get to this year. Anyway, they usually give the keys to the LOON on duty and keep the keys tucked away at the Jaguar counter when there is no LOON there.

edit:
Wait a minute! You ARE a LOON! Check with Tim or Terry and you could be the guy deciding who sits in the car.

I wonder if this will be the same car I helped extricate from the hotel meeting room in Saint Louis. How do you get an Exige on Yokos to oversteer? Soap spray!

While I did sit behind the wheel (no, I did not make "vroom vroom" noises) while it was on display, I didn't steer it during the hotel extrication, I didn't ride in it, and I darn sure didn't get to drive it around Gateway at speed.

Note to Eric,

I know you have that Marine training you never used but I think it'd be easier just to be nice to Phil...

I'm not touching this one, I want to sit in the car!

Or Larry.

Larry will have found out by now that the LOON communications system is now working on the setup for the show. The system also tells me that it will not be the same works Exige on a tour of autoshows, but probably a yellow one, one of two that Downtown has now.

I'd prefer the Elise, myself, just because of the soft top. The Elise is probably slightly faster for autocross. If you like doing high-speed track events, you will probably find that the Exige lacks a little straight-line punch at high speeds compared to the Elise, but thats a tradeoff for the downforce that is gong to really pay off in high-speed cornering ability.

I was driving down Washington Ave. on Monday, and I'm pretty sure they have an orange Exige in their showroow right now. You can go see it for free!

Yes, the Chrome Orange one is in the showroom and the yellow one is in the basement. Just walk past all the Pontiacs and go down the spiral staircase. The basement room is kind of cool, since all the foreign-car emblems are still painted on the walls from the old days.
