This is all the rage on VW sites, might be fun to do for our class! Anyone else interested?

That's funny, I was looking at the first couple pics and thinking "ya know, it would be funny to cover my whole car in painter's tape for MOWOG1." Then I scrolled down and saw that it had been done. Maybe I'll build a painter's tape GT wing instead...

We should all do that to our cars in the winters ;)

Keep in mind the warnings on painter's tape...they are time and temp sensitive, with no guarantees about not damaging your paint/clear coat if you ignore those warnings. A friend of mine found out the hard way while coating his s10 (much like the jetta above) and then letting sit on the truck over night.

My sig is on that car somewhere... That's one of the Volksport guys who went to the big Treffen show in Chicago. It started out the trip as just a little tape to keep the nose clean while driving to IL, and kinda went over the top from there.

I go to waterfest (biiiig VW show) out in jersey every summer, and being creative with your painter's tape is a huge thing, those pictures don't even come close to showing some of the creativity some of these guys have with it.
It all started off with some guys wrapping their front ends for the long drive out there, and then there's the group of guys who razz on those who use it, so it just turned into this big, silly thing.

I'm thinking of the old Eddie Van Halen pattern: A thick stripe next to a thinner stripe. A bunch of these put in all different directions everywhere at random. (Remember Van Halens guitar?) Then the young guns can say "Look at that old ****...he's doing the lame Van Halen thing" :)

Or they can say: "who the heck is Van Helsing?"

I wonder how many rolls of tape they went through to cover that Jetta?
