There has been some talk off and on about some of our crew going to Adam/Chris' event in a couple weeks. Any news on how the planning is going? When might it start, end, how many runs, that kind of stuff. From 20 miles north of the middle of nowhere, its a long drive to waterloo, and I'd like a better idea of what it will be all about.

Thanks!

The event site is a good one; large with a concrete surface. Cost is 15 dollars for SCCA members and 20 smackers for non-SCCA members. The number of runs varies, but I'll push for more. If you are driving from a long way, make it worth it by co-driving with someone. It costs double, but more than doubles your fun.
Registration is 9:30 till noon, drivers meeting at 10:30, first car on at 11;00. A map can be found at www.dmvrscca.org

FYI - It looks like The Des Moines region forgot to pay their domain registration. The website is currently not accessible!

Yea, hopefully it'll be up again soon. Hey Steve, I wish I would've seen your post about the LaCrosse event earlier, I would have gladly have given you some more seat time in the CRX. Sorry!

Adam,

No problem. It was kind of a last-minute request. I made good use of the free Sunday, getting in a good bike ride & some quality time with the kids.

Make sure to have that CRX ready for me on the 25th. I want to get in plenty of runs, given the long drive to get there! You'll have to sneak a ride in the WRX during fun runs - it now has wider 225 Azenis tires, additional suspension tweaks to dial out the understeer, and 20hp (dyno tuned) more than last time you drove it. Fun, fun, fun!

The CRX will be ready for you, Steve, and I'll make time for the WRX!

Adam & Chris,

Thanks for running a GREAT event on Sunday! Things ran like clockwork - no delays the entire event. The site is excellent - BIG concrete pad that's in good condition, plenty of paddock space, no neighbors to annoy. It was great fun running on such a large, fast course (60-80 second run times). We got 5 runs, plus fun runs at the end of the day.

FWIW - The drive wasn't bad at all. I made it in 3hr 15min from North of Saint Paul at moderate speeds.

Adam, thanks for the use of the CRX! I really appreciate the chance to gain more seat time. (and the opportunity experience my first true 360 spin in competition!)

Chris, my tires are just now cooling off from your fun run in the Rex!

Great job guys!

-Steve

p.s. Adam, email me at mnbiker@attbi.com, so we can come up with some opportunties for you to drive the Rex at future events.
