Just wondering who is planning to go. It's not a points event so I don't expect to see tons of people, but I'm just curious as to who's planning on attending. The site is a nice, clean square about 30% larger than Midway. Because of it's proximity to a residential neighborhood I'm not expecting that the city will ever allow this again, so bolt on that muffler and come and get some seat-time.
I'll see you there; I'm looking forward to more seat time.
Josh graciously offered me a co-drive so I will be there in a nice silver Integra.

What? No Elise?
Yeah what gives? There's a guy in the CVSCC that has an Esprit V8 that might show up. I was kinda looking forward to seeing a battle of the Brits.
What? No Elise?
I sold it. I liked Paul's Sprite so much that I got a MG Midget (similar car). It needs a little work though. Josh said I could use his Integra until the Midget is prepped.

Nope, No BS by Alan, he's decided to go the old/unreliable Brit car route.
However, I think it needs more than a little work...
Sorry Alan, too busy with mine to help you.

As for the event, I'm vacillating between this and spending the w/e in Winona with SCCLAC (Sat T&T, Sun AX).

I'll be at the next chipp falls event as well, with... not a spriget, but a 914. Mine. It lives- Paul can testify to that after the volksport event. What a great day, sun, fun, and my 914 back on the track... ohhhhhh............ its good to be home again.

But it's not Lirpa Sloof!!!
You didn't hear his comments after his first run at DCTC, he was talking about putting the Elise on the Lotus board for sale then.
And Dave, be careful what you say about the Miatas/owning one, crow is so hard to eat --- there's more than one MAC member driving one now that said "NEVER!!!"

I agree that anything is possible- note that the 914 was back in action, who'da thunk that?!?!? And, I wasn't at DCTC for that event, but I thought I heard that Alan had a lap or 2 in your car, and laid down some smack-talking times in your little beastie, so I could see where he could be thinking of a change, but... in talking with him this year, as much as he has researched and drooled over owning a Elise, I find it hard to think after 1 season he'd move on, but, as I said, anything is possible. Except me owning a miata. I guess that would be ALMOST anything is possible.

Rex, your asking who's going, and in the same breath your sounding all negative about ever going back there in the future. That's a personal opinion and an assumption, and I think there are better ways to attract people to your event. I think, and hope, you are wrong. :)
This could be a great deal folks. The lot is 705' x 515' with one light pole. I have a Nationals style course designed. It will be a fun event!! Entry cap is set kind of low in order to maintain a good presence with the site owner. The reason for this is to encourage them to allow the use of the site all summer next year. It's important that we make a good impression. Neighborhood noise issues are a seperate thing and will either happen or not. Given close proximity, I agree it would be wise to bring a quiet car. We need another site, and this looks like a pretty good one. I hope to see lot's of MAC support for our newest Met Council member club.

Rex, you may want to re-check your math.
Midway Stadium
459' x 324' = 148,716 square feet
CVTC
705' x 515' = 363,075 square feet
My calculator indicates CVTC is 2.44 times the size of Midway. I'd call that "a bit" more than 30%. ;)

This definetly sounds like a fun event that i'll be more than willing to attend! I hope that nothing comes up between now an then that keeps me from attending. It has been a long summer full of things to do besides autocross, and it has left me wanting to hit as many events as possible from now until snow fall. Now if i can only justify to the fiance spending money on autocross when i still have thousands to pay for this wedding.
I'll give it my best shot and hope to see everyone there!

Yes, it is the newly paved one on Clairemont. Steve Johnson worked out an agreement with CVTC to make this first event happen at this site. CVSCC will also start providing scholarships to CVTC students in addition to the negotiated usage rates. So, this could end up being a win for everybody involved, provided somebody does not ruin it for everybody.

That is all well and good, however, I haven't found car yet that feels as good as a BMW and has helmet room (The 951 was sweeeeeet, but no helmet room for us 6'4" norske folk)
And, yes, I know that Miatas have helmet room. But ask Mike about when I sat in his outside of Dave's house after the last CVSCC autocross. I just don't fit.

Oddly enough, the earlier cars are more forgiving of the larger folks than the later ones. If I would have known you were doing that, you could have tried mine.

I didn't mean for it to sound negative, I hope I'm wrong too. I only meant to convey a sense of urgency ("better come drive it while we can"). This lot is in a high-traffic area with an older, somewhat conservative residential neighborhood only 100 yards away. I really do hope I'm wrong but I wouldn't be surprised one bit if the noise complaints put the kybosh on this ever being used again. Personally I also feel that security could be an issue here. Menards and Mason Shoe are kkinda out in the sticks, CVTC is right in middle of a very busy part of town.
Steve, you're right about the size. I drive by 50 MPH every day but have never paced it out to make a proper comparison.
Carl, yes it's that nice, newly-paved lot right along Claremont by the footbridge. Call me.
ECNate, what's this business about scholarships? Is this going to be a part of the school's auto-shop program? Do you know if CVSCC has the assistance of the ECPD to make sure things go smoothly?

John, Winona has noise limits because of the near by houses. If you can silence your exhaust some, there should be no problems with you bringing it.
I'm trying to make my move on that room as well, although I would have no problem with splitting it 3 ways and me talking a roll out.
I'm still not sure what car I will be in for the CVSCC event. Nothing secured yet...

Just stay on I94 until you get to the 2nd Eau Claire exit (Hwy 37). There's nothing to it.

Yes, sorry about that. The webpage was used from the Mason event and I did not equate Met Council Series with points. This is NOT a points event and the website has been corrected.
ECNate, what's this business about scholarships? Is this going to be a part of the school's auto-shop program? Do you know if CVSCC has the assistance of the ECPD to make sure things go smoothly?
The auto program will be assisting with the event and as payment for the lot and help they will receive part of the proceeds (perhaps even more for this first event). In addition, CVSCC has been giving some thought for some time about providing scholarships regardless of this event, but this event provided us with the contacts and initiative.
As for police, they won't be helping with crowd control or anything, but have been notified as usual.
