THAT'S TONIGHT!!!!

Ok, so maybe someone else should post this.
But I'm the secretary-treasurer, so I will.

But At last night's Metropolitan Council of Sports Car Clubs monthly meeting. [MCSCC]
It was decided to hold the party at, Phil Vanners, Square Peg Diner.

A known hangout for British car types on Saturday mornings.
Great place, will hold up to 150 or so. Enough parking to, well not enough for a driving event.
And catered.
Yes!

Now all we have to do is pay. [$5 per head]
And not much more than dragging pizza in, and then the hassle of soft drink coolers etc.
Hey, if anyone wants to bring in a dessert, that's fine.
Enough room for everyone to sit down.
Three separate rooms to keep noise down. With enough room to have the awards ceremony in one.

Sounds like pasta salads, pizza, soft drink fountain.
And, yes you can BYOB.

Hey this could start a new tradition.

A little feedback on this?

Like to find out how many are planning to attend?????
Here's a map to show it's central location in the twin cities.

Oops!
Sorry, it's going to be held on the first Saturday night in January 2007.
The sixth. [6th]

The Square Peg Diner, 2021 East Hennepin, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Commencing about 6-7 ish.

The phone number is, 612-378-0855

This is the big annual party that has been held for many, many years.
At various places including 'The Barn' in Eden Prairie, but we have outgrown that.

There will be trophies and awards given out, hopefully we will have some pictures, and videos.
Much fun and fellowship, plus copious amounts of bench racin'

Hope to see you all there.

There are still trophies left over from last year. [2005]
Trophies never picked up.
Can you imagine going to all that work of racin', [oops] :D competing, and then not even care if you get your trophy?

I cannot. :flame:

I still don't have my 1st place MCAS trophy from last year. Not because I didn't want it or because I didn't show up, but because somebody forgot about it.

What happened to bringing them to events? To much hassle? How do we get them if we don't go to the party? Also, I haven't received several 'name plates' over the years...is that still the responsibility of Matt D? (not that I am necessarily looking for them now)

MAC awards maybe, but not MET Council trophies...

I finally figured to mark the bottom of the trophy when I got it so I could match it when the tags came.

Ah, yes... name plates. They should be available at M8.

As for the MAC season trophies from last season -- we have about 5 left... They have been available at every event this season, but most of the leftovers have been handed out already.

The Met Council trophies are the responsibility of someone else...

And I haven't attended any events this year.

Sumthin about not having a car, and the body still healin'

However, at some point, responsibility needs to be taken, by those winning them.
I have posted and posted, with little results.

NOTICE!

Warning, warning, danger, danger.....................

- 2005 - MCAS trophies will be at the 2007 awards party.
Whatever is NOT picked up will be recycled.

I agree that there needs to be some responsibility on the 'winner', but when you are not at any events (and I will unlikely be at the party), how does that justify recycling? Considering you are, at minimum, a 45min drive from me each way, I don't think it is realistic to expect me to retrieve it.

Thanks for the responses....

Christian,
I can get it & warehouse it if you want. Offer good for anyone (and no I won't put them out as if they were my own)
PM me if interested but you'll still have to figure a way to get it sometime, delivery is not included.

Paul

Just a thought --- now that we are doing plaques couldn't we mail them out?
COM mailed me trophies in the past. Not saying that it'd have to be an Awards Guy "thang", maybe another bored (sic) member with less non-day of event duties could do it.

Exactly. I went to the party and have attended all but one MAC event this year. What more should I have to do to get my trophy?

Come on Dwight, you said way back in January (http://forum.mnautox.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3610) that you'd mail mine out. How long do I have to wait?

So I will bring them to the annual awards party.

But the Met. council only has year end trophies, not per event.

Alex was the only one to contact me, out of, 21 plaques, and 2 really nice shirts. For C. Banks, and S. Jones.

What?
You want names?
contact me then...............
