First I apologize if I missed a rule change, but don't our events open for registration 30 days in advance. Please correct me if I am mistaken, I just want to register for MOWOG 1.
Thanks,

The cost of using the Valley Fair venue is much higher then other events, so the club is unable to provide discount pricing for members... which reminds me, I think I need to renew my membership. :D

Not only is there no member discount, the board members who usually get free entry for all the work they do pay the full price as well.
Everyone pays 30 bux.
(And this question comes up every year...)
See Adams post for the reason why.

Camping. :) Are there any camp sites near Valleyfair? Is there camping available on site? It'd be great if we could camp out the night between Mowogs 1 & 2. Assuming it's above 30*F by then.
Sorry but there's no overnight camping
Hey Mike where did you come up with those numbers??
Last year Sat 156 Timed runs
Sun 164 Timed runs
MAC can do it but we need everybody to perform their work assignment and have fast turn overs between run groups.

My car is too light according to the new rules(Damn Fascist Pinko Commie BMW Driving SCCA SEB), and I don't feel like running with a full tank of gas, the spare tire and jack still in the car. Even then it might not be heavy enough.
I'm not fast enough to be competitive in SM anyway, so I'll just be out there having fun- pretty much the same as every other year.
If I can get a STI 6 speed with the LSD front diff that conveniently weighs a tad more that my 5 speed I might move back to SM eventually.

165 wow i hope the course is short.
It won't be. Our goal is a 55-60 second course at Valleyfair for a fast stock-class vehicle.
With the open, easily monitored lot & efficient grid setup at Valleyfair, we can complete 5-6 runs per day with good event management. It does require everyone's cooperation, as late starts and slow worker changeovers cut into the number of available runs.

Two weeks will be too late! You can always change the registration info later if you need to, just REGISTER!!!!! We already have 114 registered for M1 & 91 registered for M2, they may both be filled by the end of the week or earlier!
If you take the class and decide it's not your bag you can always post on the forum and someone that didn't register in time will buy it (look at last years posts at this time if you don't believe me)

Hey everyone. A bit of a newb question that I completely forgot to ask at the novice school. What are the rules around spectators? My fiance and son will be wanting to come watch some of the events I am entered in. My son is 11. My questions are:
1) Do they need to do anything other than sign the waiver?
2) If she drives her vehicle, how will parking work out? They may not be able to stay for the entire event, so her bringing her vehicle may work best.
3) Any rule of thumb on the number of guests allowed in? Not that I am bringing in an army, but one or two friends may like to show up and watch.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Minor waivers should be available at the gate for you to sign for your son.
Lots of parking at Valleyfair, the person working the gate can point you to the proper area. Or just park where trucks and "non-sporty" cars appear to be.
No limit to # of guests. They just need to stay at or behind the designated spectator areas when cars are running.

Please bring along an army to cheer you on. Especially if they are cute cheerleader types... in which case tell them to cheer me on too. Just tell them to show up a little later, since the action doesn't really start until 10:30-11. And I'm pretty sure we don't allow children or pets on grid, but I don't know the exact rule pertaining to this.
Rule of thumb when parking, if the cars next to you have numbers, you be in the wrong spot. For some reason really cool cars can get away with parking in less legal spots. I think a viper and an Ultima GTR snuck past grid last year to park. But generally, parking near tow vehicles is a good idea.

We try to get spectators to park on the East side paddock, away from the grid. Do not park in a spot that has a bunch of stuff laying on the ground...that's someone's spot. Also do not park behind a trailer. Someone pulled right in behind Mescke's car in Milwaukee and blocked him in. I will try to have flyers printed again this year that show all the areas and list site rules that can be handed out at the gate.
You do not need a minor waiver for spectating.
Children and pets are not allowed in the active grid area. Drivers have too much going to to be watching for kids and dogs. Basically, just have try to stay in the designated spectator areas.
Anyone who has friends coming should also mention about driving in and out of the site. We have had problems with people doing burnouts and tearing across the lot very fast. We will call the police and report those things...it reflects very badly on our club and may lose us the site. Please keep that in mind for ourselves too. Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I can assure you that if any friend of mine does any burnouts or drives stupid while on the lot... they will be more worried about me than the police :D

Well I talked to the boss. I'm in for both days.:D :D :D
Now I just have to decide if I should stay up there for the weekend or drive back and forth both days.

Any thoughts how long the event will go until on Sat? I'm trying to remember how long last year went. I keep thinking about 530pm or so.
