Holy Crap! an LS1?
I remember what a beast your 924 was back 5-6 years ago, with an LS1 I can't imagine it being anything shy of a monster.

I'm hoping part of the conversion was a trailer hitch, cuz that thing is going to be ripping thru rear tires so fast, having just one spair ain't gonna be enough, and you'll need a way to carry all that extra rubber around with you-

OK, so it's an aluminum V8. What's the weight difference from the original engine and what's the weight distrubution look like on the modified car?
Wonder what class that fits into??:? :? :?

Until Porsche buys GM, then you'd have a killer SM car...

I've read of these conversions done on 944 turbos, as they have an upgraded trans/suspension/brakes over the n/a 944, and 924. I'm told the weight penalty is not so much as you would think in dealing with the 944T. A recent article in Excellence mag quotes the converted car as being 40# LESS than the 944T "doner" car.
Oh my.
But that car used the rear mounted transaxle from a 968, a bit beefer. No telling without scales how Jon's car comes out. And if they used a chebby trans and some other form of rear suspension/axle, the 50/50 balance of the car will be changed, as will the overall weight compaired to the magazine car.
Still.
Oh my.

we figure the weight might increase a little, and the front weight is going to go up, but we'll scale this thing and get it dialed in properly... I requested that Hitech Motorsport provide pictures on their message forum so look for it in the coming days:

If you get a chance, go out on their Open House day. This place is amazing, and they have the skill to back up everything they have!

Yeah... Unfortunatly the 4 cyl just had too many problems... So Hitech told me how to make it more reliable... LS1 :-)
