Road Work closing part of 35W this weekend

Another weekend, another closing on Interstate Hwy. 35W.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation will shut down I-35W in both directions starting tonight through Monday morning from I- 494 to Hwy. 62 to allow crews to remove the 76th Street Bridge.

The freeway will be closed from 10 p.m. today until 5 a.m. Monday, MnDOT said.

Eastbound motorists on I-494 will be directed to Hwy. 77 north to Hwy. 62 west to I-35W north. Westbound motorists on I-494 will be directed to Hwy. 100 north to Hwy. 62 east to I-35W north.

Wow, tomorrow is really shaping to be a great day for autocrossing :rolleyes:

Hopefully the inch of snow they're predicting won't accumulate on the roads and the detours won't be too congested that early in the morning.

Grrr. I'm really starting to hate Mowogs at Valley Fair :x

NOAA is predicting less than .5 inches overnight (And it obviously wont stay on the roads)... their word always hits the bullseye much closer than the stations around here:) I honestly dont know why the local weather people dont just read straight from that page.. they would be accurate more often !

Luckilly, I live right off 169 in Champlin, so I will just be taking it all the way down to the exit for the event, so I dont have to deal with the 35 thing.
