I know some folks are going to this one... I'm looking for a place to sleep on Saturday night, if possible... (but I won't likely arrive until fairly late)

Thanks!

John & I are going, but we haven't booked a place yet. You have the time to shop around a bit?

I'm in no giant hurry...

We could possibly all split one of the "large" rooms at the place Pat usually stays at... plenty of room for two air beds on the floor...

He may as well be your wife. ;) He'd probably look good in a skirt, following you around the grid and paddock carrying an umbrella.

I want to go but don't know if I will have the hitch put on my wife's Pilot by then. Hopefully I will get it early next week.

I'm considering the drive down. iowa looks more pocket book friendly but I kinda feel like getting my butt handed to me by a few National Champs.

OK, it's time to make some decisions. John's not coming with me for this event, so I'm on my own. The Residence Inn Pat likes is listing some pretty crazy-high rates for this weekend ($200/night), so it doesn't look like filling up a larger room is that great a deal. Plus, the parking stinks for trailers at that place.

It looks like the best deal on a decent (translate - nicer than the Motel 6) room with two beds is $80/night, plus taxes at the Doubletree on Bluemound Rd. That works out to <$50 with two people, or <$35 with three people. I'll book a room today, if I can get one or two firm commitments.

think you can wait till tomorrow to book a room?

I've had good luck with Hotwire.

I have not received the hitch for the Pilot yet so I am a very big maybe

I've had good luck with Hotwire.
The biggest issue I have with Hotwire & Priceline is that they don't let you specify two queen beds, versus a single bed, when making a bid/reservation- so you have to call the places afterwards & negotiate for a room with two beds.

I'll make a reservation once I have at least one roommate to split costs with.

I can't make it this weekend, but you can use the car if there's a way to get me a weekend car and a way to get you the Evo.

That's OK. If I go, I will **** a ride. Thanks! I'll decide today or tomorrow Steve. I have a small air mattress, so I can squeeze in somewhere.

I'm on the fence... I was planning to go this weekend but I might go 1 week later (25th) instead. Will decide today or tomorrow...

I haven't very impressed with the courses at WAI events, so it's this weekend for me.

Washburn - check your PMs

Check. I'm going, and will probably crash on the floor with Larry and Josh. Larry offered me his STS car to help guage all his blingy improvements. Namely the Zzyzx coilovers. I'm going to see about getting into Colin Fiedlers STU Subaru first...he owes me one. "Research". Ha!

Good event for MAC in general...

Larry B. took 4th-place trophy in STS, Josh Karsten took the 6th-place trophy

Michael Waich took home a 3rd-place DSP trophy for his first Milwaukee event

Pat Washburn drove Larry's STS car in STU and nearly pulled out a 2nd place finish anyway

Steve G. had some excitement in the EBS. He looked really good when not:
a) locking up his tires when braking
b) driving through walls of cones
c) shutting off his car and coasting across the finish
d) finding creative ways to shorten the course (DNF!)
Unfortunately he came in 2nd to an XP cobra. But at the end of the day, the car was still running, so that's good!

I took 2nd place trophy in DS, only 0.17 seconds out of the 1st place spot. I was then ordered to "go back to Minnesota" by the infamous Borowski brothers, having ruined the legacy of the Integra Type-R.

So not bad... 6 competitors, 4 trophies... next time we will go 6 for 6! :D

Chris, who else was there in DS?
Todd Moore, couple others... Bob Clark ran pro class.

Two of the five runs were almost complete throwaways due to cold tires, cold surface and no grip (at one point, ice was falling from the sky). Todd Moore had a co-driver which certainly helped. Bob Clark and myself were both probably hurt by not having a co-driver.

Last time it was "who is Aytinc Akad"

This time it is "who is Chris Shay"

Both are new fast guys over there.

The only other results I can find for Chris Shay is last in Novice class in 2000 over in Milwaukee.

Check the 2007 results... he used to drive a Z28 Camaro. He was #18 in overall PAX for Milwaukee SCCA last year and finished overall 10th in PRO.

Nice job guys!

A good showing for the Minnesota crew. One of these days I'll have to join you to see what the big deal is about the Milwaukee lot. :)
